We acknowledge that we are gathered on the traditional territory of the Pueblo of Sandia in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The original peoples of New Mexico, Pueblo, Navajo, and Apache have held since time immemorial deep connections to the land and have made significant contributions to the broader community in our Diocese of the Rio Grande. We honor the land itself and those who remain stewards of this land throughout the generations and also acknowledge our committed relationship with Indigenous peoples. We seek a new relationship with the original Peoples of this land, one rooted in and based on honor and deep respect.
